“There’s only one thing we can control, and that’s how hard we play”. - Don Meyer

Tonight, our Lady Wolves played their hardest and still walked away with silver. What can you tell a team when they see how hard they worked and still walked away with silver? You tell them that they can’t control how the other team played. You can’t control how the refs call a game. You can control the crowd you play in front of, but you can control how hard you play.
Tonight, each one of our girls played hard. Cedar Stewart played the best defense she has ever played. Keira Neal had 9 steals. Her all time best. Kryslyn Jones was our leading scorer with 16 points. Ahoneste Walker spoke up and became a leader tonight. Kaylee Nero kept their post to a minimum while also scoring 7 points. And with all that being said, our bench did a phenomenal job of keeping the players on the court motivated!
Each person has grown just a little more this weekend. The youngest girls on the team have seen what it looks like to play as a whole. The older girls have seen what it looks like to leave everything on the court. Our oldest girls have figured out how to lead by example. Everyone has learned how to stand by each other. These are all things that we choose to focus on. These are the things that we can control. These are the reasons why we walked away with second place with our heads held high.
